Originally the old Customs House, built in 1870, then New Zealand's oldest Police Station, operating up until 2010, now still in use as the local policeman's residence.

Christ Church 1835 - New Zealand's oldest existing church, still in use today. Look for the musket ball holes in the weatherboards from the Battle of Kororāreka 1836.

Russell waterfront, Kororareka Bay is directly in front of the house (1 min walk), while lovely Oneroa/Long Beach is an easy walk (20 mins) or drive (2 mins) over the hill.
